Art Networked Learning Communities (NLCs)
Networked Learning Communities (NLCs) are small learning groups where like-minded Art teachers from different schools meet to collaborate, share and improve on their practice. Group size for the NLCs ranges from 10 to 30.
Drawing NLC
This NLC re-connects teachers to the joy and importance of drawing in Art lessons. Various drawing concepts and approaches are introduced, and teachers discuss how these learning support teaching at various levels (Primary to Junior College).
Art Conversations in the Museum NLC
This NLC focuses on empowering teachers to lead art conversations and meaningful discussions in museum settings. Members will explore museum-based learning approaches such as object-based inquiry and visual thinking strategies to foster a deeper understanding of art and its contexts. With an emphasis on ASEAN and global perspectives, teachers will be guided to design learning experiences that develop students' critical thinking, global awareness, cross-cultural and civic literacies with intentionality. Through collaborative activities and expert-led sessions, this NLC provides a platform for art educators to connect, share insights, and glean best practices in leading art conversations with students.
Inclusive Art Classroom NLC (Pri & Sec)
This NLC aims to empower teachers to create inclusive art classrooms that embrace diversity, celebrate strengths, and enhance accessibility for all students. Participants will explore ways to harness the power of art to foster inclusion and create an environment where every student feels valued and encouraged in their artistic journey!
Technology in Art NLC
How is technology changing the way we make and learn about art? How might digital tools enrich art classroom teaching? Participants in this NLC get to explore ways to harness the use of e-Pedagogy in designing art learning activities and/or art learning experiences for active learning.
Art Writing and Art Criticism NLC
Art Writing and Art Criticism NLC is a collaborative platform designed to provide comprehensive support for secondary school and pre-university art teachers in Singapore. The community aims to enhance the teaching and learning of art writing and criticism, specifically tailored to meet the requirements of the new Art syllabus.
